The Little Gingers Story
I began sewing in 2020, during the first COVID lockdown. I've always been crafty and I love making things. Sewing was always on my to do list, so while I was on maternity leave with our youngest, I decided to give it a go and make her some outfits. I've never looked back! I fell in love with the whole process - from reading a pattern, to cutting the fabric and then sewing it all together. I absolutely love seeing how a piece of fabric can come together into a beautiful outfit, and I feel so full of pride when I see little ones wearing things that I have made.

All three of our children have the most beautiful ginger hair, and this is what inspired my business name. Having ginger hair myself, you get used to people commenting on your hair colour - both positively and negatively. I want my children to be proud of the colour of their hair and to appreciate its beauty. By naming my business after them I hope that this adds to the idea that ginger hair is special, and is something that should be celebrated!
Everything we offer is handmade by me, at our home in Leicestershire. It's just me - I wear many hats and am responsible for marketing, social media presence, design curation, sewing, packing, posting... the list goes on! It's by far the best job I've ever had. I've had many roles before finding a passion for sewing. I've been a waitress, a nursery worker, a care assistant, a laboratory technician, and a child protection social worker. But nothing has filled me with as much energy and enthusiasm as Little Gingers. I work more than 40 hours a week and I love every second!
I created Little Gingers in October 2020 and I'm so proud of where we've got to. I can't wait to see what the future brings!
